A Halloween Scare

Have you ever been scared out of your mind, you had no idea what to do but pee in your pants? Okay, maybe not the pee in your pants part, but you get what I mean. It’s hard to be around other people when something frightening happens and you don’t flinch or jump. I can remember multiple different occasions when I was in high school being with my girlfriend and friends, running into some spooky endeavors.

When I was in high school I was very rebellious. When someone told me I couldn’t do something, I found a way to do it. I never liked rejection or negativity.

Having the wrong attitude is contagious and it spreads like wildfire if your not careful. Having the ability to differentiate yourself from the rest of different attitudes and personalities means everything. I love being different.

Getting Lost In California

You may think that this is going to be a fun story about getting lost on the beaches of the warm San Diego coastline where we stumble into a bar  and end up at a house party having the time of our lives as we party until sunset with the wealthy people of the Fortune 500 companies. It’s not one of those stories.

This story is about getting lost in the woods on a windy night in the forests of Humboldt County in Northern California. When people talking about exploring California, this is the kind of true California explorations that people will write home to their parents about.

Have you been to Humboldt? If you have, then you may be familiar with the type of abstract culture that the area is all about. Humboldt, to be honest, is a pretty messed up town. Lots of drugs flow in and out of the area and there are tons of operations taking place in the dense forests of the county. That’s where our story begins. (more…)

The Dark Houses

We procured an ancient dwelling, my hubby Michael and I. When we told our friends and acquaintances that we had bought a very old house, the question was, ‘Are there any ghosts in that house?’ Both of us would laugh it away hysterically. That house retained an appealing allure and we promptly fell under its enchantment. However, the owner of that house was an elderly woman named Nancy, who seemed emotionally attached to the house but at the same time, there was an air of discomfort about her…that was somehow undesirable for me. Since Michael were all for it, I had to submit to his preference.

It appeared as if Nancy treasured the abode with each bit of her personality. In some way, I felt irritated and uncalled-for when she passionately sang praises of that house in a non-stop style.  For me it was the earliest time to reside in such an aged residence. I was a bit harassed by its history and by visualizing all the residents and proceedings of life that would have taken place under its timber.

Oakland Alley Walking

It’s daytime in Oakland. It’s normal enough. I just got out of school and I have to walk home. It’s near the end of October so the sun is going down a lot faster than usual, but I have some daylight to work with, it should be no bother.

I don’t walk incredibly fast home, but instead take my time walking. Mom’s boyfriend brought bed bugs into the house and I’m tired of being there being bit all day every day, all night every night. I showed her a blog post about how to kill bed bugs last night, but I doubt she has read it or done anything about them. Her infatuation for her boyfriend and lack of care or worry about me is frustrating right now. I’d rather face the streets of Oakland at night than deal with that tonight. Maybe I’ll take a different way home. (more…)

Lurking in the Dark

hiding under the bed

One of the greatest fears of anyone, no matter how brave they may think they are is the split second of wondering what may lurk in the dark. This fear is known as Nyctophobia.

The day and night often come with two different types of mentalities for all different types of people. No matter the type of person, no matter how courageous a person may believe themselves to be, there is always a cautious mystery that stirs in the mind when pondering what exactly is lurking in the shadows?

Even the most brawn and tough individuals all have their fears that they carry through their lives.  (more…)
