Joey O'Bryan

JOEY O'BRYAN was born in Mississippi, raised in Texas, resides in Los Angeles and keeps finding himself summoned to Hong Kong. One such occasion was to co-write Fulltime Killer, an award-winning action thriller directed by Johnnie To.

After years of options, assignments and hustling to get another movie off the runway, he got a short story published instead. "The Unlikely Redemption of Jared Pierce" appeared in the Stoker-nominated anthology Dark Delicacies II: Fear.

He is currently dying from encouragement as various film projects inch toward production.

From Midnight Walk's reviews:
"Some stories are less traditional and more imaginative, such as...Joey O'Bryan's The Svancara Supper Society an unusual "fanta-gastronomic" piece endowed with the imaginative power of a SF tale, the adrenaline-charged character of an action thriller and the hideous substance of a horror story."
Bookgeeks
"Joey O'Bryan closes the volume with "The Svancara Supper Society", a gloriously funny and visceral sf/horror hybrid about cloning."
Creature Feature Tomb of Horror
"Cloning is the spice of life (and death) in this grim, disturbing tale of a society on the verge of ecological disaster. O'Bryan successfully keeps the science elements of the story in check, using them to lend authenticity but never letting them overpower the horror at hand."
Dark Scribe Magazine
"The Svancara Supper Society by Joey O'Bryan just left me in awe as it tells of a future where food is synthetic, but a scientist is searching for the sixth food quality that transforms the way people eat. There is so much more to the story, but I don't want to give any of it away! It really must be read to be believed."
Fatally Yours
""The Svancara Supper Society" by Joey O'Bryan covers the touchy topic of cloning, describing a future in which scientists are attempting to find ways to produce more meat for the populace...Humorous, repulsive, intelligent, horrific - this one has a little bit of everything, and was the perfect way to close out the anthology."
Horror Drive-In
"I think THE best was saved for last: Joey O'Bryan's 'The Svancara Supper Society,' an extremely grim take on a death row inmate's last meal."
